Sitz bath
Naturopathy
A sitz bath is a shallow, warm bath used for cleansing the perineum, the area between the vulva and the scrotum. Genital pain and itching can be relieved with a sitz bath. The warm water in the sitz bath not only helps with cleansing but also stimulates blood flow to the perineal area. In addition to healing perineal and vaginal lacerations following vaginal childbirth, this can speed up healing and lessen the pain and inflammation caused by haemorrhoids.
When to Use a Sitz Bath
Certain issues in the vaginal, anal, and perineal regions can be cleaned and treated using a sitz bath. In women, the space between the vulva and the anus is called the perineum. It lies between the scrotum and the anus in men. A sitz bath aids in muscular relaxation and blood flow to these regions.
